What's the use of USB cables for sidekickII?
If they do have it in the market, it has to server some kind of purpose.

No, that doesn't work anymore. You can thank PopSci for making the developer key process so much harder thanks (in part) to this article.

You're kinda missing the point. If you can develop software then you can apply for a developer key and use the usb to actually test and debug your "software".

The "other stuff" is really important.

To be honest it wouldn't surprise me if loading ringtones via USB was disabled in a future release of the OS just to keep people from complaining that you have to have a developer key to load ringtones.

How dare we pesonalize our phones with out paying T-Mobile!

That isnt fair that we can not personalize OUR sidekicks which we paid money for! There should be some way that it can happen, because for what other reason would they make the USB Cable for? Decoration, perhaps??

Thats why I am returning my sidekick tomorrow.... I like the features on it but I feel trapped with this phone... Cant save pictures from the net, cant change the backgrounds, cant upload ringtones. To hell with the sidekick. I think ill go back to Motorolas and Nokias!

I never said I agreed with it. All I'm saying is that the ability to load ringtones on the device via the USB cable is the major reason for all the changes in the developer program over the past year or so.

If you're not happy with the fact that you cant load ringtones on a sidekick, blame (and complain to) t-mobile. It's *completely* their decision to do so, not Danger's.

I thought I did when I said, "without paying T-Mobile".
