i just saw a bid add at my cingular store for a new ipaq. when will it come out and any mor einfo on this one?

HP IPAQ 6500/6515 basically the 6500 series will be GSM type. Too many hearsay so read and believe on your own. Some say it is already out in Dubai, UAE. Too bad I am not there anymore.

Quad GSM, GPRS, Edge, GPS (yup GPS) camera or not (6515 vs 6510) 240x240 screen, BT, qwerty KB etc. Currently available in the UK, Asia, Australia and posted here and elsewhere that HP is going to announce the US launch date this week.

Cingular stores have the posters its on the rebate form that is good from 7/24/05 - 9/24/05 so yeah its coming.

And accessories are out and available too.

Yeah, I saw the ad in my local store today, too. They were mega busy, so I couldn't ask any questions.

Anyway on the inside know if they'll be offering this phone for Blue customers through NBO?

Well, I'm in Thailand, and iPAQ 6515 is now already been out for quite sometime here. I just don't like the screen, I'd prefer a regular PPC screen instead of that bulky-looking keyboard. Also the lack of wifi is a big deal to me, but it has been replaced with the GPS, but yes, you can add the SD Wifi easily and cheaply compared to that expensive SD GPS card.

You can use the Spectec miniSD WiFi card too. Check out Daves Ipaq forum for that. The miniSD comes with the SD card adapter too.

David Ciccone at davesipaq.com has posted a news item regarding Tuesday, Oct. 18, which most likely means the HP hw6515 will be on sale then. He does not come out directly and say it, but that, in my opinion, is the clear intention of the news post. He says get in line at the Cingular store. He is a very conservative guy and does not like speculation, plus he is an Ipaq evangelist, so between not posting speculation and his site geared towards Ipaq, one has to assume that it is the 6515 he is talking about. I do not see anyway it could be the 6700 series since HP has said they want to get rid of the inventory of the 6515 before releasing the 6700. Here is the link:

I guess it was partly right, Cingular announced they were selling in today but not for two more weeks. I have had my unlocked 6515 for six weeks and its alot of fun. I will sell it once the Treo 700w date is known and move back to Verizon.

Dave wrote the news in a mis-leading way. He was saying to line up at the store.

Are you going to the Treo because of EVDO or for some other reason? You indicate you are having fun with the phone but will leave it behind for the Treo so I guess I am wondering if it has anything to do with the phone.
