Cingular Settings for X800

Man, I've been everywhere trying to figure out why my x800 can't connect to cingular gprs . I've read a lot of people have this problem but have no concrete answer as to how to fix it.

I looked at all the settings and they seem to be in perfect form. Can't for the life of me figure out what is wrong. I've had a ton of series 60 from Nokia and haven't had this problem. Really it should be easy but there must be one little thing that I'm not doing right.

If anybody out there with an x800 or x700 that has figured out how to do this, please please help.

As far as I know Cingular says they broadcast in the 850 Mhz and 1900Mhz bands but the X800 operates in the 900 Mhz and 1900 Mhz bands. The X800 is unable to connect because it can not connect to the 850 Mhz freq and Cingular is not broadcasting in the 1900 Mhz band even though they say so.

That's not correct, I think the Cingular rep is just trying to find an excuse. I'm using my Nokia 6681 right now with no problems. It's got 900/1800/1900 and no 850. I can connect to GPRS. I haven't used a 850 band for awhile and most of my phones right now are Sony Ericsson or Nokia.

I guess we just need to warn people that if you buy the x800 or x700 that cingular GPRS does not work. I've tried everything I can think of and surfed the web to find answer, but to no avail.

I'm assuming you've transferred all the Nokia settings into the X800? Is the Nokia a Symbian 60 phone?
