Lots of Troubles

LIke many of you, I want to rid of my verizon wireless banner. this is my second Audiovox 8900. my first one had this done already and when I got the phone, I got the cable but no cd to it. Well I broke that one and now I have a new one and I can't get rid of the banner. I have a Mac so i'm thinking this is part of it. I downloaded Bitpim but it wont recognize my phone, so im stuck. Any Ideas? I reallllllly wnat to get rid of this banner, I went to verizon and they said they didnt know..help?

Does your computer recognize your phone and make you install drivers?

try this...

Menu > Settings > System > ERI Banner > Off

huh, i did menu > settings> system

i turned the NAM from NAM 1 to NAM 2 and it went away

edit: but when I did it, the roaming icon came up..i im guessing im roaming, so i switched back to NAM 1

NAM is your system+phone number

"ERI Banner" is the Verizon Wireless... turn it "OFF"...

I forget where (maybe here somewhere), but I saw someone post about this, and I think they might have used a hex editor on the firmware or something...

If I run across it, I'll post the link here.
