Bit Pim and VX6100

I have had bitpim for a couple of months and it does not recognize my phone any more. The computer recognizes it but bitpim does not. I have tried many things that include changing usb ports and re installing the program. i have used bit pim in the past and it has worked very well. i am not sure what the problem is. help would be appreciated
