6600 Upgrade Limitation?

Hey guys, I remember reading somewhere that the Audiovox 6600 couldn't be upgraded past a certain point. Whether that was referring to the OS, or something else i forget. But I remember that it mentioned that Audiovox claimed it was a limitation due to the memory capacity. Can anybody confirm/deny/clarify this?

Would liek to know before I buy it :P.

What upgrade do you mean? Memory capacity? 8GB SD cards are on the way, but I don't know if the 6600 will support more than the 1GB currently commonly available.

no, definietly not an 'external' upgrade. I think the site I was reading it on was referring to the operating system or something similar. I know it was definietly a 'software' limitation that was mentioned. Think it was that the OS couldn't upgrade past a certain version? But if anybody's able to upgrade a brand new 6600 to the latest OS version, then the site I read it on was spewing propaganda :P.

Side note: I read alot about people having to do soft resets to restore proper functionality. Anyway around this? Maybe a fix/patch of somesort?

You must mean an upgrade to Windows Mobile 2005? That won't happen anytime soon, no.

There's not really much of a change between 2003 and 2005 anyway...
