Well as you can see in the image the ringtones are displayed in a folder with two files, one .desc and one 'body'. How would I go about uploading my own ringtone? I tried putting a .mid dirrectly on the phone but it doesn't show up in the list in the phone menu.
Or is Telus blocking me from doing so? If they are, any way to bypass?

I have an update to my situation.
If I create a sub-directory under Ringtones I can rename a .midi file and upload it with the file name 'body' and copy the .desc file from one of the ringtones I bought via Telus and use it along with a custom ringtone then it will play when in the ringtone settings area of the phone.
However, when I set the ringtone for incoming calls to the custom one (with the .desc from a bought ringtone) then it will play the ringtone that I copied the .desc from.
So I then copied my custom ringtone into the directory of a bought ringtone and overwrote it, it works this way, but should not be necessary.
My real question is, does anyone know how to edit a .desc file to tell the phone where the location of the custom ringtone is? All the text editors I've tried come up with a bunch of squares
Edit: I did a search for .desc and this came up
