the value-add function included is nice, but not required (mp3 ring, cam)
which I should choose?

one has expandable memory, the other doesn't

one has a larger screen, the other doesn't

so it'll probably boil down to features and brand loyalty

depends waht you want from your phone. If you want it to be an mp3 player... get the one with expandable memory.

If you have bad eyesight get the one with a larger screen

When is the W600i launching? What will it lack compared to the W800i? If they say it can only take 128MB of their overpriced media i will happily buy something else.

how bout taking no expandable memory at all

it's 256 mb internal, nothing more

you may overlook the content of OP
mainly I use the phone for phone and modem, then quad-band, good RF performance, good GPRS/EDGE performance, reliable bluetooth are MUST

about screen size, I don't care (I have 6230, I can live with small screen)
external memory? since I don't use the phone as mp3 player (however, I'll put some of my voice recordings as ringsound), with or without external memory don't matter

both are equal for phone and modem use

personally I'd like to have another SE phone (thanks Cingular, which sponsors the Sony movies, that prevents ALL other providers to sell SE phones)
however, if 6270 is quad-band version of 6230, I still want to have it

if I have enough $$$, I'd like to have both (one is used as modem, other for phone call, I don't want GPRS card anymore)
non-branded is another factor to consider (I bet SE will sell W800i, but I think Cingular won't sell this phone; I also think ebay vendors: Wireless Advantage, Wireless Rush, Expansys USA, will sell non-branded)
I 100% prefer non-branded, even I don't need T-Mobile stuff (I can configure myself)

i think another good runner up will be the d600; also quad, 2mp camera, expandable mem. you can't go wrong. i think a bigger battle will be between the d600 and 6270. both are sliders and have similar options. can't wait to see both of these phones out on the market

the big minus of D600 is lacking EDGE (well, T-Mobile has EDGE up and running in more and more places)
if T-Mobile sells its own ver of D605 or something with EDGE support, I will also consider

There are two versions of the D600 though. The Olympic Version D600 which is Tri-Band but has EDGE, while the Quadband version lacks EDGE.
