is it possible to convert pics online to my background on my VX8100?? for example if i find a pic i like online on my phone or pc, how would i resize it(if needed) and make it my wallpaper?

Save it to your computer, then start reading the tutorials. There are lots of freeware programs to do the resizing and converting to the proper format. Bitpim is pretty good for the uploading to the phone.
