is version 1.82 the latest version of BBlight, after doing a search this is the only one i found but it was a really old thread. do you guys know of a newer version and where i can find it. thanks. (i have the bb 7520 if that matters)

I don't think there is a reason for updates with that particular software at all, as its just an on/off program. If that version is out there to download, go for it....

Does this work like the "On User Activity" option but only after a certain time of day? And why the Duration option?

It works separately from the "On User Activity" option. You set it to begin at a certain time of day (From) and stop after so many minutes (Duration). You might set it to stay on during the evening hours from dinner time until you go to bed.

So I am assuming you have to have that option checked as well as the "on user activity" one as well. Maybe that is why I thought it did not work, I did not have both checked.

You don't need to check both.

You can test it yourself. Uncheck all the options. Check "On Time of Day." Add a time to "From:" that's a few minutes from now. Change "Duration (mins):" to 1. Click the trackwheel. Choose "Save." Click the Escape button. The backlight should come on at designated time and turn off two minutes later (programmed minute + duration minute).

Maybe you didn't save the settings when you tried it last time.

It is a Great application. I have mine set to come on when I pull it out of the holster and when I touch the scroll wheel or any user activity.

The only thing I wish it could do is have a default setting for turning on the highest level of backlight on my 7290. I would gladly pay more for this capability !!
