I have created ringtones as .wav files and am using iDEN application to upload ringtones. I can upload ringtones I have on CD, but ringtones I create wont upload. I get this error.....
"a general communications error has occured while communicating with the phone. Please verify the connection between the computer, phone and cable as well as your preference settings. In addition you may try setting the phone Buad Rate to 19200"
It is at 19200 and USB. I can upload apps and wallpapers. Just not my ringtones. The size is fine.
Can anyone help?
thanks

Make sure that your settings on your phone are on auto not at 19200. But the most inportant thing is to convert you ringtone to a wave file again after you have choped it up in the sound recorder. If you dont convert it again to a wave file at 8000mhz 8 bit and very inportant to mono which I am sure you are prob doing all this except converting to .wav for the second time. I am pretty sure this is your problem.Hope this works for you I have had a lot of fun making ring tones for my i730 and if you want will give you access to some if you want theshoeman4u@hotmail.com

First off don't use sound recorder, use a good wave editing program like Soundforge, Adobe Audition, Goldwave, etc. Then you wouldn't have to convert it twice. Just make sure to save as a wav in 8000Hz, 8-bit, mono format.
