Very nice phone!

Looking good, I like it.
I need to take some updated pictures of mine now.

How did you change the screen colour??
Posted by: skiboard
What do u mean the screen colour? you mean inverted screen? I disasambled the lcd part and inverted it.
Posted by: NightsDarkness
Can you tell me how.. Please...
Posted by: skiboard
I dont really recommand you to do this unless you have experiences with electrons and stuff. You could easily crack your LCD up which will cost quite amount money to replace.
but, if u rather take the chance and do it, I forgot the address which tells the instruction, but if you search this forum or in search enginem, you will easily find it.

O
okay , thanks.
I thought thr screen looks black cause you peeled off that white paper on the back of the screen and put like some black one on... I know I read that from somewhere...

nice...reminds me of my super modded 8290..
Posted by: Ryan1524
will you invert my screen?? hehe...i see your work out pretty well...
i like the screen..but not sure about the rst..i was never quite a fan of clear plates and flashing LEDs all over the place...
nice modding thou..

U want me to invert your screen? Sure. I live in Ottawa tho. lol

Inverted screen is done by simply adding what's called an inverter IC. Just a chip which holds a few 'inverters' which do just that.... takes an input voltage on one pin and inverts it to another pin.
Hope this clears the mystery up.

That's not how it's typically done. You invert screens by rotating the polarized sheet on your lcd screen 90 degrees to alter the light path through it making your screen appear bright or dark.

or that way....
Posted by: NightsDarkness
So you can do this yourself right??
Can you take some pics to show me??? PLz...
thanks

yeah you can do it..but if you mess up the soldering you're phone's toast...it's hard enough doing a kit fm radio...microscopic sized older contact points are quadruply worst (is that a word?)
and if you might break your lcd if you're not careful when rotating the film...
but i guess it's up to you...if you're confident and have the necessary skills...go ahead..
Posted by: skiboard
Not too hard. but if it's first time doin it. you should practice with other LCDs such as calculator and stuff. that will make the job easier.
Posted by: NightsDarkness
I DO have an extra LCD.
But I don't see any "film" or anything like that...
Posted by: Shindo
Wow thats really ricey.
Posted by: raver0600
or u could always buy already-inverted screens and just remove your old one and place in the inverted one. it costs like $30 though
Posted by: skiboard
Theres none for 8390 tho.
I will be posting how to invert 8390 screen soon here.
Posted by: NightsDarkness
Thanks man!
But when you take out the screen for the nokia 8390, will it danage anything??
Posted by: skiboard
I just posted pics on how to take 8390 apart. Check out

uhh.. will it damage your phone? not really, unless you are not careful with LCD. I dont have any problems using it after modifying the phone... although, It will(not too sure) void your warranty.
