OK, i have a little problem. I am on the newest cingular firmware. Everything was going fine with the occasional slow down. Well about three weeks back I went to send a new text message and after I hit send nothing happened, multiple clicking of send did nothing. Restarting did nothing. I had a few hundred text messages in there and I had to delete them for the phone to send text messages. It was really weird cause i couldnt reply or send a new one. It has happened a few times and it seems as if the limit the phone is reaching is going down down down. I have about 20mb free so that isnt the issue. It is really weird because I dont want to have to delete the text messages as one of the advantages of a smartphone is the nearly infinite call log and text message log. Also, if I get a new text message while this problem is occuring, it shows the preview, but when I click it, there is a blank screen. The only method to solve this is deleting them. Any advice or help? Thanks

To tell you the truth I have never heard of or seen this problem....you may need to hard reset or even reflash your phone because there seems to be a problem in the way the phone manages memory. Now you could try to change that via a registry setting but I don't know if it will work for you.

Go to my WM site and click on the link to dchesters page, go to registry edits and look for the one that says increased memory management. Try that and let me know if that works for you.

EDIT: I found them on the site for you: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\LowMem \ProgramMem
Increase it to 64 (from 18), although others have increased it to 96 with good results as well.

I don't know what else can be causing the problem, like I said a hard reset or reflash may solve your problem.
