Ok i live in Ny ,im thinking about selling my sidekick and a person imed me asking if it would work in canada? im pretty sure it would correct?

I heard if you unlock a Sidekick (Hiptop) then you can only use it for phone and text message. but the internet and the e-mail doesn't work but not 100% sure.
