S40 on Primetime!

Anyone besides me notice that on last night's episode of Friends on NBC, Phoebe was using an S40! It was right near the beginning of the show when she was sitting with Rachel and Ross at the Central Perk cafe. A plug or just a prop??? They never showed the face of the phone so I am guessing that it wasn't product placement... Interesting!

Siemens is doing a lot of product placement on prime time shows these days. You will find S40s and Siemens Gigasets on Ally McBeal, ER, The Practice, Once and Again, Frasier, Judging Amy, West Wing and others. And of cause on Friends...

Yep! That was definetly a S40 that Phoebe was using, I almost felt sorry for her lol. Sorry no offense to anyone who likes the phone, I had a bad experience with mine.

Can you elaborate on your 'bad experience'?

I got a blister on my finger SMSing with that phone.. Also reception is like a magic show.. you have full reception all of a sudden to none, then again full, then again none.

maybe u were in the area where the signal is bad

The Siemens S40's reception compared to my T28 and 5190 was much worse. The menu system didn't really appeal to me, as it seems complicated and all text with no style. The phone crashed on me twice in just a few days of using it.

The only high points I found while using the phone was that the Voice Recorder can record both sides of the conversation , and it has a lot of memory to record. The phone book can store 1000 items with tons of entries such as home, cell, work, fax, address and what not.

The phone was a little thicker then other phones I've used. The voice quality wasn't fabulous, I did notice the voice codec kinda screws up in low signal areas, not the phones problem though but Cingular's coverage. I believe that if I had better coverage half of the problems I had would have dissapeared though. But there is a reason why the price of this phone has dropped so dramatically.
