Yes, there was a post here on how to do it a while ago. Most people came to the conclusion that it was buggy and less functional than the 2003 version though.

the most recent 05 build i've seen is very stable from a phone/pda perspective. syncing w/A.S. 4.0 is cleaner and you now have a "Disconnect ActiveSync" option with WM05. it also includes WMP 10. many of the programs used on WM2003 work with WM05, once the phone is application unlocked (e.g., CityTime Alarms, Papyrus, SpriteBackup, etc.). the downside to using WM05 is no MMS, no voice-dial and the camera is not as good. i didn't see/notice any performance degredation with WM05 on the SMT5600. as i see it, there's no compelling reason to flash a SMT5600 with WM05; that is, unless you just want to be different. 
oh yeah, i wouldn't pay $30 bucks extra (as listed on ebay) to have it installed on the phone...
