VoIP has been introduced for almost 10 years now. Now it's almost the time to dump the landline and head into VoIP. But be careful, first, not all the high speed connection can give you good support for the phone. Second, losts of supprise might hidden in the long list of terms of services. You'll suddenly find that the so called "free" is just kinda hook.
For VoIP services, my suggestion is, never never get into any contract. Buy yourself the VoIP phone and select the service yourself! Lots of softphone company can provide you much better rate than the contact based VoIP provider (you got a free set, yes, but that's locked to that company only).
