Phone upgrade from x427m: Looking to go to V540 or V551?

I currently own a Samsung x427m phone and have been pleased with its performance to date. Call clairity and RF seem to be good. I'm eligible for an equipment upgrade and am looking for a little input. As far as a new phone goes, I'm looking for call quality and RF at least on par with the x427m and bluetooth, in a clamshell style phone.

I'm considering the V540 or V551, which I understand are identical except the V540 has no camera. I can get the V540 through my employer and would actually prefer it since it doesn't have the camera. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Really its up to rather you prefer a camera phone or not because the v540 and v551 have the same features except for the no camera on the v540.

As much as I don't like the x427m, I have to say the overall build quality is much better than a V551. BUT THAT'S JUST ME.

Why? At least all the buttons on the x427m have a nice "click" to them, and I have yet to come across a Samsung with a crooked LCD screen. I can't say the same about the Motorolas.

But I will say that the V551 does have much better sound clarity over the Samsung x427m. No random noises and garble in the earpiece.

You can read more of my useless drivel on the Motorola V551 at my depository of rants.

There are the obvious advantages of the V551 (external LCD display, quadband, bluetooth, EDGE, speakerphone) but if you're not into those features, then it's your choice, really. If you don't mind a few random nitpicks on the Motorolas, then go for the V551 or it's siblings (the V540 or whatever they're calling it.)
