Is the RAZR durable?

Will it last me a while? I've read of people referring to posts about RAZR problems, but I haven't seen any.

I feel like it's delicate and I need to be careful with it, and I'm not really clumsy with phones...but I don't want something that's going to fall apart after a few months because I stuck it in a bag with some other stuff.

mine has been durable; no complaints yet.

mine was fine until I laid down my motorcycle with the RAZR attatched to my hip. At least the RAZR supplied some protection from road rash on my hip before it died.

I dropped mine a couple of times, no scratches or dents yet.

I remeber reading somewhere about a sales rep would purposely drop his razr on the ground to show how durable it was.

Then I read another review where someone dropped it on concrete and it didn't scratch at all. Very interested in how true these reports are.

Depends on where the phone hits the ground. The corners aren't going to show as much as the front/back. I dropped mine a couple times and I can see a couple scratches on the bottom left.

They should make a really phone of a really dense metal so it won't scratch...just make it thin so it's lighter....

NOKIA'S new stainless phone should fit this bill. If it weren't $600, I'd buy it to replace my RAZR

i think when the op means durable he means falling apart on impact or something- this phone is not made out of adamantium (wolverine from xmen). the phone is VERY thin, and light... yes it is expensive but not so expensive that it can be that thin and survive major impact- the bottom line is it is a lot less durable than a full size phone especially a nokia

i guess that's not bad. thanks for your info!

but now i have another problem...for another thread, i guess.

I bought the phone knowing it won't be as durable as a nokia candy bar but the form factor and feel of the phone are superb. It definitely feels, especially when flipped open, that it would be easy to break. So, you handle it more carefully than you would other phones. No problem. I did order some vinyl "skins" to put over the outer shell and display to try to prevent scratches. I hope they aren't cheezy!

I haven't had any problems with durabilty either, and it's met the wood floor a couple of times
