Keep v220 or go with razr?????Need decision soon

Icurrently just got myself a new cingular plan from my local wal-mart today. the phones they offered were samsung x427m, v220, v551, and theblack razr. I went in lookin to get a v551 for like 50$ but they didnt have it, so i went to my local cingular store and they wanted 150$ for the v551. So back at walmart im stuck with either the v220, or the razr. And the v220 was only 35$ and the razr is 150. What do you recoomend? is it worth paying 115% more for the razr or should i just stick with the v220 for now, and buy a phone off howardforums.com.com or hofo later on?

I can't tell you exactly what to get, but if gas prices weren't so high I would tell you to burn that V220.

I personally don't think the V3 is all that special. The V220 is a nice, simple, and affordable, what's more to ask for?

well sorry to those who have v220's but in my experience the v220 is complete garbage

it's built to last oh...say a few months before the chrome around the camera lens chips off, the hinge starts making weird noises as if its going to snap off, the screen is tiny and horrible, the reception isn't the greatest, and it's just not very durable

go with the razr, ....you always get what you pay for

and remember, keep ya ear ta da grindstone.

yea but 150$ is alot for the razr. I guess i might go for it but its 115$ ectra dollars. Id be satisfied with a v551 but they said they dont know when any shipment will come in and i dont wanna be waitin for weeks with this phone.

You should definetly just put up the x-tra $$$ for the V3 if only for the reception... the visual cheapness of the V220 is a downfall you can live with sure... but just think about how much of an inconvience a phone with poor reception could potentially cause you... Good reception is worth it if you're going to be using this phone alot!

Yea...but i mean i dont want the razr bcuz it looks so nice. Id pick a v551 over it any day. What i think im gonna do is keep this POS abnd wait a month or so and pick up a e398

Anyone got any ideas for phone i could get from howardforums.com.com that are reasonably priced? Cause althoguth the razr is nice, id rather have a phone with features than style.....id rather have mp3 player and video recording instead of being razr thin

the RAZR can play MP3's, and it can record video with i believe a seem edit or new flex. of course, you only have 5 mb of memory to work with. i can fit a couple MP3's on my v600 (also 5mb limit) if i re-encode them to like 32 kbps.

you can get the v551 for 47.87 at Sam's Club with a new activation. That way you don't have to settle with the POS v220 or drop the dough on a RAZR.

I vote for the V3. You are comparing apples to oranges in this thread with the V220 and V3.

Well luckily, even tho they said they wouldnt have them in stock, they got the v551's in so i got one of those. Im still debating the black razr tho...it does look nice, but at least now i have 2 decent phones to compare. I got this one for like 48$

the RAZR admittedly LOOKS cooler than the v551, but the 551 has video (out of the box) and EDGE, which is faster internet, which may or may not matter to you. I'd take a v551, personally, if I had to chose.

That was my aspect on it. the only thing i liek about the razr is the larger screen, and the outer color lcd. But id rather have video recording straight out of the box.

The razr is thin, but very wide and actually huge when open. And I give that keypad a year before it'd a goner. But if you really want one, try Googling "Razr free" [w/o the quotes]. There are several online sellers that offer deals where they give them away for free (after rebates) w/2 yr contract.

Yes, FREE. And worth every penny, IMHO.
