BB 7290 and Outlook Personal Folders

We have a BES as well as an Exchange server. Can the blackberry utilize the Outlook Inbox if it it is set to deliver email to Outlook personal folders or does it have to be the Inbox on the server side to reply to or send email? Just curious.
