Treo650 Treo 650 drop calls . Explaination???

My Treo650 has been dropping calls constantly. It only allows me to connect between 5-7 minutes. I have the latest firmwarw without the latest Cingular 1.15 updated file. It all started dropping calls when set up a Gmail account on Versamail. I finally uninstall the gmail account and things seems to have gotten better. I don't have any 3rd party softwares. If anyone can explain to me what is going on I would really appreciate the help. I just don't see the relatinship between versamail gmail account can affect signals/drop calls. Thanks

My 650 would all of a sudden just turn off (well the phone part) and I wuold have to hold the red button to have it connect then 5 min later it would do it again. So I read in these forums about the SIM card holder (a defect) it said to put a piece of folded paper under the SIM in the holder so it holds the SIM tighter. Ever since I did that I have had no problems.
