24 hour initial battery charge for Treo 650?

I just purchased a Treo 650. The retailer included a notice suggesting the battery be charged for 24 hours prior to first use. Is there actually any benefit to doing the first charge this long?

Charge it until the light turns green. It will not charge anymore after that. It only takes about 2 hrs if it is totally down.

No, i have not noticed a difference. Every phone i have ever had in my entire life says fully charge before using...and i never do, always to impatient

24 hours is unneccessary. Usually 4-8 hours is enough. Do it at night and charge it while you sleep. A fully charged battery will give a "memory" to the battery of what its full capacity is.
