As long as you buy a Cingular-branded phone or an unlocked GSM phone, you're all set...

What does "unlocked phone" mean?

Google is your friend:

(note: this is an unlocking service -- I am not promoting them... merely passing along their FAQ, which saves me from having to think ).

Means you can use it with any GSM carrier.

now that i know that information anyone know any good websites or places that i can go to buy a new or refurbished phone (that costs a reasonable price ) i think that will be better than havin this v220 that might go out on me again. I kinda likethe v551, v330 the phones like that, that have a large internal display and camera. Don't really care to much about blue tooth or video but if it has it i don't mind.
