Hi, my friend just bought a p900 from hong kong, version R5A09. He is having trouble getting the phone completely in english. He managed to get all the screens but the handwriting input only lets him choose chinese or none. Also, the previous owner left some info on the phone and after a master reset, that info is still there. Any ideas on how to completely wipe out the phone and have everything in english? Thank in advance.

Try formatting the phone completely instead of master resetting it. Then change everything back to English and the left over stuff from previous owner should be gone.

As of the hand writing part, try selecting "none" and he should be able to punch in English.

As far as Im aware, the firmware is determined by the cda number. If this phone is a Chinese version (p910c) then a format or master reset will not sort it.

The phone will have to be flashed and the cda number changed, because every update he does the update serve will install the firmwae relating to the cda number.
