Turn off the phone. Insert the MemoryStick into the phone. Turn on the phone. Use Bluetooth to transfer your mp3 files to your phone.

or

Plug the card reader into your computer if your phone came with one and the MemoryStick should show up on your computer desktop. Drag the mp3 files you want onto the MemoryStick. Put the MemoryStick into your phone.

The MemoryStick duo you are using isn't a Pro duo is it? S710a phones can't read Pro MemorySticks.

Post back if you need more help.

He was asking for Mac specific help, I believe.
Insert the memory stick into the card reader plugged into your mac, and then run "Disk Utility" from the "Utilities" folder in your "Applications".
Click on the Memory Stick (it'll probably be named something like "NO NAME") and then select the Erase tab.
There there will be a selection of formats for you to format your Memory Stick with.
This is one way to use Memory Sticks with the Mac, although I don't see why you can't just use the card without formatting it (works for me straight out of the box).
If the Memory Stick is working without formatting, it may just be a matter of putting the MP3s in the right folder on the Memory Stick.
I don't know the S710a very well, but on my K750i you have to put them in a specific folder marked "MP3" on the Memory Stick.
Hope this helps.
