I was browsing TreoCentral and when I stumbled upon this little gem of an item, my

The NoviiRemote Blaster, made specifically for the Treo 650.
Quote:
TreoCentral's list of some features
-Control over 10, 000 home entertainment devices, including TVs, Satellite Receivers, HDTV decoder boxes, DVD players, VCRs, and more

-Enhances your Treo's Infrared strength - The Blaster features a strong infra-red transmitter, with a range up to 75 feet and much greater beam angles. With this powerful transmitter and the built-in code chip, you can control TVs outside the home, for example at your local sports bar.

-The Blaster is easy to setup.

Now, i've been reading about this for about 2 weeks, gathering info and doing everything but visiting the manufacturer's website to get a full list of devices that are supported. My main question is, has anyone actually used this device, how easy is it to setup/configure and is it wortht the $35 that its advertised for?

How is the range and ease of setting it up/customizing button configuration?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/hspr-H102; Blazer/4.0) 16;320x320 UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0)

I think that, frequently, some faulty Blasters make it out to consumers. Mine fits too toghtly in the SD slot and it is not recognized by the software. Emailed them yesterday. No response yet. From their forums, it looks like they take a while to respond.

Not too far, about 3-6 feet away. U gotta press down on the key for about 3 secs to get the IF to work well. And yes the buttons are customizable.

3-6 feet, that is pretty much reachable distance. The point to a remote is distance. This whole thing doesnt seem appealing to me.

Well $30 is a good birthday present price
