Help with Screen Menu/ Key Sequence on Kyocer SE47

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have the Kyocera SE47 and my screen has gone black (my phone works). I'm in the process of getting a new phone as I figure there is nothing to undo the black screen (I dropped the phone and the screen went black. I didn't drop it that hard but oh well).

I can still dial out on the phone and receive calls. I just can't see anything on the phone.

the problem is I have a text message on the phone. It's beeping and telling me that I do. I need to access this text. I figure if someone can walk me through the screen commands I can forward the text to another phone number and read it.

So if someone could tell me the sequence of keys to push to forward a text message I'd appreciate it.

I'm pretty sure i start out by hitting the left menu button then sliding over two spots to right and then hitting ok to get into the messages but after that I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

if you have your phone set to direct view (the message appears without any extra navigation) then you could try this:

hit the right arrow three times,
then OK
then down once,
then OK
this brings you to the address book. unless you have this memorized, then it would be best to just send it somewhere new. so...
hit down once,
then OK
then enter the number to send to
then OK
then OK
and it should work

good luck

Thanks for the help. I'm not sure what you mean by direct view. I tried what you said step by step and it didn't seem to work. I wasn't sure about the right arrow thing three times at the beginning as i've never done that. I tried it but it didn't work.

Usually i start off by hitting the uppermost left key on the phone. it takes me to the icon screen. I then tab to the right 2 times, hit enter and am then in my inbox. I think. usually within i message i thought i would go right and left instead of up and down.

Let me go by step by step to confirm things.

I tried this and it doesn't seem to work. Assuming I do the left uppermost key , right two times. I think that would take me to my inbox. I'm assuming that is where i'm at but am not 100% positive. Can you explain this in case I don't have the direct view?

I think this takes me into my inbox right? I'm fine with this stepbut you say it takes me to my address book. i first need to select the most recent message and then somehow say I want to forward it before going to my address book and enter the number to send to. I think this is the step I'm missing.

Do i have the message selected first above? i think i need to select the message first. I don't have the number memorized so i would need to enter a new number as you suggest.

sorry i didnt back to you sooner. well we figured out that you probably have your phone personalized differently than ours. My girlfriend wrote up this revised procedure for you to try. She changed her phone's setup to hopefully match yours.

revised procedure

1. open phone
2. push left uppermost button, should take you to main menu
3. down three times and "ok" should take you to the messages folder
4. down two times should take you to your inbox
5. hit "ok" and it will go into your inbox, automatically highlighting the most recent message
6. hit "ok" again
7. right arrow 3 times
8. hit "ok"
9. down once and "ok" will select Forward
10. down once and "ok" will select New Address
11. after you hit ok, you'll need to enter the number you want the message forwarded to
12. after entering the number, hit "ok"
13. hit "ok" again to send it

Hopefully that works...

good luck man
