Any recommendations for new phone?

My two year contract is almost up (Sep/Oct) and just this past week my Audiovox 8600 died after having an incident with Georgian Bay. So I'm going to be calling Bell Mobility up and finding out what they can offer me in terms of service and a new phone. I'm currently paying $25/month for 100 weekday minutes plus unlimited weekends + call display & voicemail as extra. I'm thinking that there's got to be a better package they can give me.

As for phones, are there any recommendations as to what the best phone out there currently is? None of the phones really stick out and appeal to me and it seems like Rogers is the one with all the cool looking ones. I'm not against leaving Bell and going to Rogers but I'd like to know what you guys think in regards to phones before I call them up this week.

Thanks for any feedback.

If you call, they'll offer you the 8910 $0...if the Motoe815 comes say at the end of the week, that would be the one to go for, just for it's newness among other things.

But from their present line up...Samsung a680,a740,LG 325 or Nokia 6225 are imo the better phones.

Your plan will haved to be changed! They do not office that plan anymore and it appears that CS is no longer able to offer "enhanced" retention plans.

You are still able to "buy" any phnoe that the month to month prices. If you want to have a "rebate", you will have to change your plan. (which have become "worst" in recent days!)

Well I called up Bell today and the rate the guy gave me was this:

$35/month
Unlimited evenings & weekends starting at 8pm
100 anytime minutes
unlimited mobile browser
$3 worth a month of text messaging

The system activation fee and 911 is already include but I still would need to add call display and voicemail. As for a phone, he didn't offer one but said that I would have to wait until my contract expires before I can use their HUP. That sucks considering that I technically don't even have a phone anymore. It's not looking good for me to stay with Bell...

Well if things work out you,I suggest the Audiovox 8930.Its is professional looking attractive, not a plastic toy small looking thing.I mean veryone that seen my fone says its way better then theirs, cuz it is LOL.Google it in Images.
The phones software is very very nice, lots of extra features.I like the reception.Cant think of anything else yet.......Oh it has trutones!

Lobotiger - You might want to check to see if any of the stores have any old loaners that they can sell you or even if a friend has an old phone lying around. I think they will charge you $25.00 to activate it - but it would be worth it if they are not going to give you anything new until the end of your contract.

your contract end date is in line with the Q4 Rush.. you'll get a good line of phones to choose from usually during this time.. E815 being one of them, if you want a high end gadget filled phone - 8930 like Firebabe said is also one of the nicer looking phones but most people dont' like it because it doesn't have outside display.

If you don't have a spare phone around to activate- and can't find a dealer willing to give you a loaner.. see if anyone you know has an old bell phone lieing around.. bound to be someone who does

Ok I just thot of suttin,Is the reason why peeps dont like the 8930 cuz there is no display on the outside, maybe they think it answers the call as u filp it up?Well it doesnt .You can make it so it answers when u flip it up,but I wouldnt.
