Help A Newbie Use His SK2!!!

Hey,
I'm usually ranting and raving in the nextel forums; however, I recently purchased a SK2 for my brother but it did not come with a sim card. Now I have plenty of Nextel (i860) sim cards lying around and so I decided to see if I could use it in the SK2. After putting the sim card in, it asks me to put in a special code to unlock the sim card for use with the SK2, so I was just wondering if anyone knew what this special code would be? Better yet, would anyone know where I could buy an SK2 sim card (not prepaid) or is any1 selling 1? Please help me!!!

You can buy one on ebay. They are usually less than $10 with shipping or just go to T-Mobile and activate the sk2. They will give you one for a one year contract. Don't bother using any other sim beside T-Mobile, the data won't work if you do.

thanks for the help but i already tried searching on ebay and had no luck but I guess getting it through t-mobile would be best... thanks again...

Are you sure? I found a bunch when I searched . Those are just the ones nearest to me. You can enter your zip code and find the ones nearest to you.

i found tons of sim cards when I searched for jus t-mobile sim cards... the only problem is that I wanted the sim card that is made for the sidekick 2... then again... I know **** about t-mobile and maybe there isn't a specific sim card for the sk2... and if that'z the case... let me know... and i'll just buy any old sim card... lol...

Yeah any T-mobile sim would work. But it should be new and not taken out of the plastic card. I don't think they will activate sims that have already been used.

You are very lucky you did not fry your Sidekick. They have been known to just stop working after putting in foreign sim cards that are not T-mobile.

I only say that because it has happened to ME!

oh wow... i would have def been pyssed if that would have happened... i guess i am lucky... anyways... the guy who sold it to me said he forgot to send the sim card with it... so he's going to express it to me... thanks for letting me know tho...
