Is it possible to email ringtones to the RAZR? and if so, how does one do it? If not what are the ways to get ringtones on the phone without a data cable?

It's probably possible but why bother? Razr's use a standard usb cable.
I just picked mine up at a local computer shop for $4.95

That is pretty cheap seeing that i bought my data cable for my V710 for 24.99. But the person that i'm asking this information for doesn't wanna go that route. I appreciate your response but my initial question was "without a data cable?" Can Cingular customers send each other ringtones via mms?

If you were on cingular you just email it to your number.... ##########@cingularme.com

it'll have to be less than 100k

you want to email a ringtone to your phone and you are on cingular?

that would make it an mms message and would need be sent to #@mms.mycingular.com

size limit for the razr is supposed to be 100k but most times you can send larger.

They have changed it a few times. just tried: mms.mycingular.com - works
100k is the limitation of the network, not the phone.
mobile.mycingular.com - worked.
cingularme.com - worked

the easiest way to to send the LINK to the ringtone as a mms message to your #@mms.mycingular.com

example go to walmart .com sned the LINK of the ringtone you want to the email above,,, the phone will then connect to the link and download the ringtone,, 100k limit does not apply.

basicly send the link to the mp3 you want and your done..

mms is #@mms.mycingular.com trust me

sms has several different ones depending on if you registered online for a media net account, which used to be mywirelesswindow. That open up being able to use alias@cingularme.com and alias@pics.cingularme.com if you don't like using your number.
It seems they are trying to transition to #@cingulme.com. You can always go here and look.......http://www.cingular.com/media/text_messaging_options

That was one great idea!!! Me myself, I make my own ringtones, cause i like them to start it and end it where i want em too. But that works for my less computer literate friends. And it helps me out cause I aint gotta convert em for them. Just send the link!!! And they're all larger than 100k. Thanks again!!!

The limit is 300K.

i made the mistake of doing this without any data package and it ended up costing me almost 10 dollars just for one ringtone. wooops. i'll never do that again.

and this was all on a phone with bluetooth. thank god i figured out what bluetooth capable meant..saved myself hundreds of dollars

little confused. Go to www.walmart.com on the phone?

or in general, load up any page on your phone while on mobile web and send link of mp3 to the phone as a text?

On your computer (desktop/laptop/whatever), surf to walmart, goto the music section, find the mp3 clip of sample music that you want as a ringtone, and send the link of the file as a text message to your phone.

Has anyone figured out how to email an mp3 ringtone in an mms message and not have cingular's gateway convert it to amr?

Posted by: Jdog1183

Posted by: ben_aggie03
