I just bought this phone off e-bay and I have seen this and I would like to know if it is true?
-You can't personalize the external display. Like add wallpapers to it. I heard that it only shows the clock and if you push a side button you get the info screen like bat. and signal strength. Thanks!
-And if this is true does anyone know of a way around this. Like a program or a hack, since is is symbian you can install software. Thank People!!

There isn't a way around this it's a firmware thing.
