SMT5600 Streaming Audio / Video

I already did a search and couldn't find anything...

On my SMT5600, the internet works great and everything...I am able to connect to any website, etc. The problem is, with streaming audio/video, it just goes to media player and says the title with the word "ready" below it. It never actually plays the video or audio even after pressing play, etc. The streams I am trying worked perfectly on the MPx200...Any ideas? Thank you.

I tried this: http://ccri.eonstreams.com/ccri_ma_boston_wxks_fm.asf which works fine on my MPx200, but the SMT5600 just says "Ready".....

for the ones that got the smt5600 to stream? what t-zones plan were u using? I am using 4.99 plan, maybe they got port blocekd off...

I was under the impression that you couldnt stream anything under T-Mobile because the ports were blocked.... Unless your on the $19.99 plan...

I have the $4.99 tzones plan and it works fine on the MPx200...For some reason, it won't work on the SMT5600...

MPX and SMT are supposed to almost the same, wonder what is different

Interesting... I'll have to try a few streams and see if they work. If any do, then I'll post em. Maybe we'll have a sticky of streaming videos

Yeah, the Mpx200 is using WMP9 I believe and the SMT is using WMP10...When I connect to NPR, it says the news title, such as "Justice Dept: Common..." and says "Connecting" under it...Some setting isn't right...

I have some questions on this topic as well as I have never streamed on my 5600 before:

I typed that URL abovfe into my phone and clicked ok and got an alert saying:

"Cannot find the file. The file might have been moved, renamed or deleted. If the file is stored on a server or a removable storage card, the server or card might not be availible."

I tried it on my PC and it streamed fine.

My next questions is: Can I stream anything off the internet as long as WMP is supported? For instance I would love to be able to stream my favorite radio station that streams through streamaudio.com . Is this possible?

Lastly I see under network options for WMP 10 that it gives you a host of connection speeds to choose from. How do I know which one to have it set on? I see WiFi is an option. I have Wi-Fi at work, what do I need to do to connect to it?

Thanks so very much to whoever can help me out.

Depending on your service provider and internet plan, you should be able to stream audio and video compatible with WMP, usually 35k or less, but 56k works sometimes. For me, it connects and shows the file name, etc, but there's no sound. I have the $4.99 tzones plan and it works perfectly fine with my MPx200, which I believe runs on WMP9...Has anyone else with an SMT (or even MPx220 running on WMP10), T-Mobile, and tzones had luck with streaming audio/video?

Anybody with an MPx220 also have this problem?

You can't play these media files on the $5 plan in most areas of the country (ports now closed). Sign up for the $20 plan for a month or so. It won't break your bank I hope.

Anyways, IT WORKS FINE on my MPx200...Just trying to get it to work on the SMT5600

Thats great that it works on the MPx 200, however it doesn't on the SMT...why, hell if I know....You should try the 20 plan just for the hell of it...if it works after going to that plan then it was the previous data plan that you had that was the problem, if not then your data settings are not correct somewhere.
