BT Sync won't work after BT headset?

I've run into a bit of a weird problem.

I had setup the BT of MPx220 to sync with the PC and it worked flawlessly.

Until I bought myself a BT headset (Mot HS850) and the headset works fine. But since I paired the headset with the phone, I can't BT Activesync with my PC anymore.

When I tried "Connect via BT" it'll try to connect (display "Connecting...") but then after 20 sec's or so it'll say "Errro - COM port cannot be opened. Make sure you disable Activesync (?!?!?) and close other applications that use the COM port." and followed by another error message "Error. Cannot connect with PC."

All this happened while I am not using my BT headset.

I've tried closing BT and restarting it and it didn't work. I then did a power cycle and same thing.

Has anybody encountered this problem before?

Thanks in advance,

Yep, happened to me too. Fortunately, very easy to fix.

Just remove your computer from the Settings/Bluetooth/Devices menu on your phone. Then repair with your computer once more. Now your BT Sync works and your headset works.

Hope this helps.

Thanks! It works now!

Ok, it worked, but then today the problem popped up again and I had to delete the pairing and re-establish the pairing.

It seems like everytime I re-establish the pairing with the PC it'll only work until the next time I use my BT headset.

After everytime I use my BT headset it somehow screws up the PC pairing and I can't BT sync (nor connect to the PC via BT) ...

Has anybody experienced this?

Wish I could help, but my phone works fine with my BT headset and with BT AS after the first re-pairing.

I get exactly the same thing when I try to BT sync with both my work and home PC's.

It will only sync with the most recent BT pairing.

Discovered the other day that both PC's are using the same BT com port (5), I don't know whether that's the cause of the problem? I haven't got round to changing one of them yet to find out.

Regards,

Adam

I had this problem myself. I don't know what I did to fix it though lol. You could try a different COM port....but as of now, if I am connect to ActiveSync via BT and can still use my BT headset. I have also notice that when I use the HBH-300 BT headset I have this problem, but when I use my HS810 or HS850 BT headset I don't have this problem so it could also depend on the BT headset you are using.

I am using the HS850 but I still have this problem

How do I change the COM port? I can use different COM ports on the PC BT setup, but seems like the only COM port available on the MPX220 is COM6. (when I open BT Port Serial setup on the MPx220, my only choice is to either turn on or turn off "Outbound COM Port: COM 6" ... can't change the COM port)

What ROM version are you using? If you have that seprate app for setting up BT COM Ports (not the one in Start, Settings, Bluetooth, Menu, COM Ports) then you may not be able to set up a different incomming and or outgoing COM port.

In the 3.45, 3.46, and I am assuming 3.50 ROM's there is a COM Port setup menu under Start, Settings, Bluetooth, Menu, COM Ports.

Within the COM Ports dialog screen, you can hit Menu, New Outgoing Port, and select your BT headset and select a COM port that is different from the COM port ActiveSync uses.

I use 1.47 and under Start, Settings, Bluetooth, Menu, my only choices are "Devices" or "cancel". Going into Device will list all the paired devices, which are my PC and my headset. For each of them I can choose New, Edit, Delete or Set as Hands-free.

When I click on Edit, it'll allow me to change the display name of the device but that's it.

No mentioning of COM port setting

Are there any other 3rd party appz to setup COM port for BT?

Yeah 1.47 doesn't have the COM port setup feature that I was describing...you need this to change the COM ports....however you can do this in the registry also but I don't know which keys and where you would do this, but it can be done there. I don't know of any 3rd party apps that are caplable of changing the BT COM port on your phone.
