I am using the 902SH Japanese Version Unlocked in the United States with Cingular Wireless, and the voice mail icon on my screen doesnt go away after i deleted my voice mail, its really bothering me, does anyone has the same issue????

I had it before, the only way I know is change another SIM card into your phone, then change back. Icon will disappear.

it might be a different voice mail.. or you might have turned on the Message Recorder in your phone. .
Your phone has a built-in answering machine.

Ok I know this may be considered off-topic, but I'm on the Rogers network in the GTA and I don't even GET a voicemail indicator when I get new voicemail!
I do get a text message with that weird @_ symbol or whatever that says New voicemail, but I should also be getting the VM indicator, right?? well, I don't...
It's frustrating because if I delete that vm sms, I can forget that i have voicemail and there is no indicator letting me know that I have unchecked voicemail on the system!
Another quirk with the 902sh (I have the hk sx813 flash): I had to manually enter my voicemail number into the phone, as for some reason it defaulted to "138". Usually when I pop my SIM into a new phone, it picks everything up off the sim card, so when i hold '1' down, it will dial my voicemail...
Yet another quirk: No auto-update of date & time! argh.. i know it's minor, but I like my phones auto-updating without me typing in the time. (correct me if i'm wrong, but sx813 does NOT have this option/capability).
All these things add up and make it a bit frustrating to use the phone...
I know, I know.. I should just shut up and put up, right? the phone is brilliant otherwise.. But having had a SE k750i, I gotta say that the K750i is absolutely KING for features from a non-smartphone. It could do just about anything you could think of.. it is very practical to use. Here's an example. when i'm using my calling card, after entering my pin number, I gotta choose which LD number i wanna dial. Well i'd scroll down through my phonebook, pick the number i want to dial, and say "Send Tones". All of my phones (all nokias, my V3 Razr, my k750i) could do this. in fact Motorola lets you program it so that it will automatically ask you which number you want to send *before* dialing the calling card number (it has a p for pause, w for wait, as well as n for number insertion - brilliant!). Anyway, my point is that Sharp 902/813 has no such capability - can't even say "send tones"! I gotta dial in the number manually...
This is just one example of many... Of all the phones I've used, I think the k750i and the newer nokias have been great for functionality and useability. just my opinion.
i take a risk jumping to a new brand, but I guess you gotta be prepared for the changes.
comments appreciated! sorry for the ramble/rant!
and if anyone knows any solutions to the above problems i mentioned, please let me know, or at least confirm that those are known issues! thanks!

you do have to program the voicemail number. no biggee tho. i had to do that with my v802se.
as for your calling card.. yah.. sharp gui is not as easy as moto or sony ericsson thats for sure.. but that shoudl be expected. se is famous for its easy user interface.
most of your gripes are related to the ui for sure. but yeah. if you are comparing the software.. se wins handsdown.
i don't like nokia's menu system as much but once u get used to it.. its relatively great. but as for sharps.. its not user friendly at all.
it will improve over time.. but will it ever match se or nokia or moto? hard to say. depends on the demand.
i don't get your voicemail problem.. but i guess thats cause fido has decided i didn't want voicemail any more. jerks.
