T-Mobile Branding Brick Registry Change

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

This is another thing that works fine in the MPx200, but not in the SMT5600:

In the registry, to change the branding brick (when you dial a number and after pressing send/while you are talking, a banner (AT&T, T-Mobile) appears above the phone number) I altered the ...Shell/Rai/MSCdial to the correct gif and the same with ...Shell/Rai/MSCProg. The correct branding brick always appears while dialing, but half the time it won't work after the send button is pressed...This is a sort of minor annoyance, but what's really bugging me is that I can't figure out why ...I checked the settings on the MPx and they are the same...Any help would be appreciated...Thanks...

Anybody? Omega?

It works for the MPx 220 too...it should work for the SMT...make sure its in the right directory.

Example: mine is in \Storage\My Documents\My Pictures\ms_mobile.gif

It works fine on mine, and it I know it will work on the SMT 5600 because I helped a member here set it up and they reported that it worked..

Also after the change, reboot your phone

Go to the key MSBranding, that will put the banner image of your choice when your incall.

hey Omega, thanks for the reply...I tried that, restarted and everything, but still the same...It's perfectly fine when I dial the number, but once I press send, it goes away (half the time!)...You would think that if it was the wrong location or something else needed to be added that it would always not appear after hitting send, but the weird thing is sometimes it does appear...very strange.
it's set at:
.../MSCdial BannerImage /Storage/tmobilewm.gif
.../MSCprog BannerImage /Storage/tmobilewm.gif
.../MSBranding BannerImage /Storage/tmobilewm.gif

Changing the MCSDial setting fixed my SMT, I have removed everything 'Cingular' branded on my SMT w/ no trouble at all.

You can't just change the image though, you have to make the registry change...I initially tried to overwrite the cingular image but it kept coming back after a reboot...so the MCSDial setting is the way to go.

umm...I did change the registry:

.../MSCdial.........BannerImage /Storage/tmobilewm.gif
.../MSCprog........BannerImage /Storage/tmobilewm.gif
.../MSBranding.........BannerImage /Storage/tmobilewm.gif

Chris, did you only change the MSCdial?

Yes, that's all I changed as far as the items above, I have not checked to see what the other two above are pointing to on my phone, but I suspect to ms_mobile.gif...

When I changed MSCdial, I pointed it to the ms_mobile.gif image in my windows folder, not to an image elsewhere...but I can't image that would have anything to do w/ it...you should be able to point to the storage folder...this is really wierd (that it's not working for you).

I also changed all my splash images for start/shutdown, but those are different entries...

Make sure you are entering the correct directory for the location of you .gif image...if your not it will not work. I wouldn't put it \Storage I would put it in \Storage\My Documents\My Pictures, thats where I put mine and it works.
