If I upgrade to WM5 from 2003, what will I loose and what will I gain?

I'm thinking of upgrading to wm5 from a rom on a cd I have. I'm just wondering though. What features can't I use anymore? I heard that some things you will loose when you upgrade

And also, what are some really good things it gives me? (Basically just pro's and con's.)

Sry for this kind of post, but I just got it and really am interested. Thx

According to one reviewer, the WM5 ran slightly faster...and seemed quite stable. But there were no drivers for the camera so it had to use generic drivers -- result was pictures of lower quality.

I'll defer to others for the rest, since I haven't tried WM5 on my 5600.

Don't do it YET? Will there be a newer, better version of it coming out soon? And as for the camera drivers, one thing I hated about my 5600 is no flash. If it had flash, I'td be better. I was thinking of getting the SonyEricson s710a because of it's image qualities. But anyways, has there been any newer release of camera drivers for it? Or a newer ms5? What would make you say not YET? thx

Well, let's start with the very nature of Microsoft products. GRIN!

Though WM5 is reputed to be stable, all the little problems seem to pop up with Microsoft products, within the first month/year/decade. :-) The vast majority of problems will be dealt with when off-the-shelf WM5 devices come out...

It also wouldn't surprise me if a camera driver, etc was written...SO many of us SMT5600 owners would like to have WM5 as an upgrade option, especially since it was developed on our platform.

i am waiting for the release of the first availlable device with official WM5 and MMS software, chance are there will be dump and images available that will work with a SMT5600, until then it's beta release and festivus for the rest of us

Like said before, it may be stable but it's really for testing. There are many things missing and many things won't work. I would also suggest waiting for the actual ROM to be out.
