ActiveSync Kills GPRS Connection?

I'm using Agile Messenger to connect to AIM and ICQ, and I would LIKE to have my phone constantly connected to the GPRS network so I never sign off. However, it seems when I connect my phone to my PC, ActiveSync takes over and kills my phone's internet connection, signing me off from the services. It doesn't even switch to using my computer's internet as a connection. Is there any way to prevent ActiveSync from interfering with my GPRS connection, or to at least switch to using the internet from my computer instead? What about staying signed on while making a phone call? I'd really appreciate any help!

You can't stay signed in during a phone call, GPRS and Voice can't work at the same time.

Not during a phone call, but when you are just connected via AS, yet, had the same problem recently...first, make sure your phone's data connection settings are all set to 'automatic'...start/settings/dataconnections...once you have your phone connected via ActiveSync, go back into this setting, change the GPRS and WAP settings to 'pass-through'...

That should do it...when you disconnect from AS, they should all revert back to 'automatic' and when connected thru AS, they will pick back up on 'pass-through'. Works on my SMT this way perfectly (after some trial and error)...I had a problem w/ this after loading HTTPMail to check my hotmail, it was blowing away my AS session every 15 minutes.
