Says Nokia 6102 and 6682 are now approved and should be in stores in a few weeks...

Fun!

YAY! something else I can spend money on!

well lets hope so....reminds me of the story "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" after a while I'm just waiting to hold the dang thing in my hands before I even believe it exists.

I spoke with an in store rep today who said it was expected for release 1st of September, but that could mean late October the way Cingular works. I just dont think those guys can promise anything until the product is actually in hand. Can't really blame them for that.

i hope the nokia 6102 is a good phone i am looking forward to getting it i was just so upset when i got the 6230 and it froze 2 different phones and i now a little weary of nokia cell phones. even though the 6102 won't b as tech enhanced as the 6230 all i really need to do is make phone calls and text with the phone. hopefully it will b better then the brick v551 i have now (at least it has not froze like the 2 nokia i had) so that y i choose it. but i hate moto's
well thx for listening to me rant

lol..wow..i noticed how you said "a few weeks" in which weeks could be months.everyone else guess is the same as yours,.i wish someone would have a concrete release date of when it will be released to the public..i might just buy the 6630 instead, since i havent heard of the small ram issues with that.no point in upgrading to 6682 if it cant handle as much apps as my 6620

Rep told me today the 6682 would be $349 w/o contract, although there is a price sheet floating around somewhere that lists it for a little more I think.

Nokia reps have been saying things like this for years.

Roles have reversed. Nokia are the Motorola now. Look at their lineup of phones and all the issues with 6230.

The issues that only exist on the cingular branded firmware?

At least the 3120 didn't have to be revised because the screen cracked if you touched the casing wrong.

hey everyone: I just got done playing with a 6102 (although it's for Cincinnati Bell). We just got them in today and I was playing with it...it's not to shabby. I would test it out on Cingular's network but Cincinnati Hell locked the **** thing.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Phoneking,

Were you able to place a call? How was the audio quality?

And, how did the buttons feel? Nice and clicky? Or mushy?

Posted by: DruB

mushy and non-descript would be good adjectives.
