flashing antennas?

ok, some may find flashing antennas extremely annoying, and i too believe the same under most circumstances. however, i found the little plastic grey antenna of my 5300 kind of cheap looking and does not really match the rest of the phone so i was considering getting a replacement antenna. here are some of my questions about them:

1) do they even exist? i searched for about an hour and did not come across any of them for sanyo phones. and IF there was one for 5000/5150 will it fit the 5300?

2) what kind of risk do i run installing one? if it's a complicated process and involves opening up the phone and could potentially void my warrenty then forget it...

3) what's everyone's opinion about the flashing antenna? i don't want anything that's too busy, probably a metallic cap will do (even if it doesn't flash), something like the one below (probably not compatible with sanyo)...

anyway, if anyone has any info about this VERY TRIVIAL matter i'd appreciate it...

They have tons of flashing antennas in japan. You should be able to find it on maybe asian web sites.
1)But i remember my friend had the sanyo 5000 but the japanese version and she said none of the antennas were compatible for her phone. Well it was along time ago so im not positive and they may have change the antenna. If they have it for 5000 or 5150 it should be compatible just check the antenna size or you can try swapping antennas with 5000/5150 and if it fits it would be compatible.

2)As for the installing it. its very easy the antenna screws right off. They usually give u a tool for this with the antenna. pull the antenna out n look inside the opening and u should see to slits on each side of the antenna . u just need a small screw driver to turn it and it should loosen up. I have done this many times on my japanese phone and have not tried it on my 5300 so i wont be responsible if you break your own phone im telling you what i know.

3)I want a flashing antenna too. But i have not really looked.

AFAIK, there are no real flashing antennas for CDMA Sprint phones. The Sprint startacs could use the flashing antennas but due to power output, they would only flash in areas with only 1 bar of reception when the phone was working at it's max power output. Since that's not really 'functional', I doubt any aftermarket manufacturers will pay attention to CDMA phones for flashing gear.

So that's why they never worked with my StarTAC. But wait, if the phone is using transmitting power to flash the LEDs then wouldn't that mean your transmitting strength is reduced as well?
