Virtual Laser Keyboard

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: WoNGsTeR

Announcing the world's first commercially available Bluetooth Virtual Laser Keyboard! Roughly the size of a disposable lighter, the Virtual Laser Keyboard leverages the power of laser and infrared technology to project a full-size qwerty keyboard onto any flat surface. As you type on the projection, optical recognition detects your keypresses and transfers them to your Treo 650, complete with realistic tapping sounds.

Now thats cools... I wonder how well it works.....

I'll let you know when I get mine. The fact that it work across many platforms convinced me it could be a very useful toy. Of course, the Treonet club helped a bit.

That's been out for a while, nice item though. It works with PC/Mac and I almost got it, but I don't use a keyboard very often.

I agree! Now I've been known to spend top dollar to buy the latest gadgets but even I cannot justify buying at this price. Looks like a cool device but way overpriced IMHO.

World's First?

WTH? These have been around for a long time.

I could not type without some sort of tactile feedback.

I don't know if you've noticed but your Treo actually comes with a full QWERTY keyboard. (it's right under the 5 way controller)

kidding. hahaha I'm so funny.

I wonder how well it works, but at the same time it seems redundant-this is without really considering the high price. That said,I remember when I bought accessories for for previous Palms-that may have been one thing that kept me using a Palm Vx for so long, modems, keyboards, wireless services.I mean I could probably see using it with a BT device that doesn't have a keyboard, but given the money I've already spent on Treo software and accessories to make it useful for my needs,I doubt I could justify spending on the keyboard-I'd rather buy more software ! or a 2GB memory card!

Looks awesome, is there a review? Video?

That thing is rockstar for the price. I saw a while back one that was the size of a pen that displayed the same size, but it was around $650 if I remember right.

I wont be purchasing one any time soon on my college budget, but I would also really like to read a review of how well these things work! ^.^
