Hello fellow HoFoers. You guys may not care about it but i just learned that i am now a manager at an agent. I know a lot of you guys hate agents for the stunts that are sometimes pulled but im only 19 so for me to get the position, im pretty stoked. Sorry for the lack of a real point to this thread but i had to get it off my chest and tell someone. Thanks for listening guys..

Posted by: .7

Congratulations, but 19 as a manager is, well, suprising yet not suprising at the same time. Im sure you understand what I'm saying on that.

Anyhow, I hope you do a good job.

Posted by: -X-

Congratulations Moe..

Im a Manager at an Agent location also

Im 21 but age isn't an issue as long as you can put out phones (not that I have a quota) an build a customer base you are set.

Posted by: SonyStyle

all indirects are being eleminated nov 1 by cingular. the only places where cingular service will be sold is Radioshack and the corp stores

Posted by: Turbos15

WHOA!!!!

Cingular stop using steriods and there nuts got alot bigger!!!!!!!
Corp stores and RS so that means no more dealers.

I thought it was only dealing with non exclusive dealers though.

so did I. But we have seen two fairly large premier Cingualr agents get the axe already. It have been for other reasons, I doubt we'll ever know the truth.

Posted by: cowboys93

Does this include Affordable Portables in So Cal that sells Cingular Exclusively?

off-topic?

From the store outside, you would think it is a company owned store. Your only clue is small writing on the door and the extra forms you fill out.

This really confuses the heck out of people. Example, you have cellphone issues (service or hardware), you drive past a store with your carriers logo, you go in for help, and get turned away because you did not buy from their chain!!!

Posted by: cowboys93

Does this mean Best Buy as well???

Sorry, I did not search or hear about this prior to today!

Is that nationwide? 'Cause a brand-new exclusive Cingular agent just opened up like a month ago near my house. I find it hard to believe that Cingular would pull the wool over the eyes of the owner by not telling them that they'd only be allowed to be in business for 4 months.

Posted by: SuxBeingU

Heres what we know to be fact SO FAR. Dealer have already lost contracts in some parts. The Mobile Solutions(nationwide) GSMCORP( South East 93 stores) another poster in NY they had a few stores. Other have already received letters stating they have until Oct 31st to sell Cingualr after that they will no longer be a Cingular Suib Dealer. I have no idea nor have I heard about online dealers like Amazon.com or Brick and Mortor stores like Best Buy or Circiut City.

We also know radio Shack will become a Nationwide dealer Jan2006. They will lose Verizon for sure. No one seems to know if they will carry Sprint/Nextel at this point

Posted by: elushon

No one seems to to know if they'll carry Sprint/Nextel?

From all indications from Sprint, RS will be selling nextel right along side sprint products in RS stores. Don't ask me to quote a source, it was in some FAQ either on the Spint/Nextel site, or from that playbook .pdf that got "leaked" all over the net.

Posted by: SuxBeingU

EL

I have heard that as well. I have been Nextel dealer for awhile adn they made us carry Sprint 4 handset minimmum if we wanted to keep Nextel. I wonder if they are making RS do the same

Posted by: Rcadden

RadioShack will continue to sell Sprint and Nextel, and will pick up Cingular. If you'd read the press releases, this gives them one of every type of carrier, GSM, CDMA, and iDen, so they have a variety to offer the consumer.

Posted by: BrutusBuckeye47

Our location is exclusively Cingular and we are not losing the right to sell Cingular products. We are one of the bigger exclusives left. And Note: this is the same guy who started this thread.

yup, definatly an agent by the quote in his sig

I take offense to your post. How is that different from a corp. rep? I have yet to meet a corp rep who doesn't say, "Customer Service? their number is *611." Salesmen are salesmen, regardless of whether they are agent or corporate. Don't go generalizing.

I doubt very seriously that we will be going anywhere. In our market, Cingular has been moving out of stores so that we (the agent myself and the other person posting under my name works for) can take over. Shooting off at the mouth? Yes you are. Show me proof that the agent employing us is losing Cingular and I'll eat my shoe. Untill then...**** you very much.

ah, but a true salesman knows there are always sales behind a customer service issue. wether it be then or later, you take good care of them they'll be more likely to take care of you in the future........

Posted by: anubis9278

do i really want to post in this thread, kind of sleepy. no dont post. too many doom sayers. (mumbles to himself) the mobile solutions, pcs division, etc. crap agents with crap reps. non-exclusives loses contracts...stop increasing churn. ok i'll post. RAE.

Cingular is cutting all non-exclusives through master dealers that have a churn rate of over 13%. Cingular is cutting "shady" dealers who copanies have appear to many times in the complaint cube, mobile solutions I am referring to you. Cingular will be increasing premier and exclusives commission. Cingular will also be relying on these new poilcies to increase net adds and get rid of dead weight.

Posted by: CingularEmploye

Ok i think there are a lot of confused ppl out there around the area. Since Blue and Orange are now combined, there are an over abundance of stores out there. They are "axeing" those agents (premier or authorized) based on there numbers and overall performance( customer service etc.) Not all indirect is getting the boot, just those who suck balls pretty much to get rid of the poison. God knows there are so many places that suck and shouldnt be selling wireless at all let alone Cingular. They do harm to the company!

Posted by: BrutusBuckeye47

DO you think i would have put that into quotes if it was something that i said? I am damn good at what i do. I may not have the best numbers but im also not in the best location to get people in. Once people walk in they are mine. I dont mind doing customer service because its part of the job. BUT i do know that in some stores they have CSR's and Salesman, so dont you think i Could have heard that from someone? Dont try to insult me because i have something in my sig. Get over it.

Posted by: hahnyc87

agent stores cant do a lot of stuff that corp stores can though like crediting the account or what not

Posted by: mashi

that's ok.. If Cingular cut off all indirect. I want to see the sales of the month. How many people actually go to RS/Corp store activate their phone ?

Posted by: SonyStyle

hah, a lot, indirects in my market suck, they have old phones cingular doesnt carry anymore for double what they are on ebay. Plus they have no live demo bars of the phones so you cant try them out,

Im glad they will be cutting these stores.

man, you must have went to every dealer nationwide to post that statement. Or are you just an ?

Posted by: Rcadden

As long as Cingular has the prices they have on phones, indirects like me and others will do good. I understand that there are customer service issues to deal with, and that it's part of the job. In my area, there is only one corp. store, (well a second just opened a week ago) and people HATE going in there. It's awful. But I also make commission and don't waste my time fixing someone else's screw up, or educating the customer they should have. I pride myself that everyone that gets a phone from me learns how to power cycle the phone, know what softkeys are, how to get their voicemail, and how to save a number in their phonebook. I am not responsible for the jerk that just hands them the phone and says "enjoy, here's your manual."

That happens on both sides and I can't say that I saw indirects do it more than corp stores or vice versa.

Lol we dont hate agents, why should we hate agents when the actual operators are charging us double all the time... *sighs*

Posted by: MrAlifEkin

Wow this is an old thread...I was still working for Cingular at that time...
