hallelujah!!

I am out of crapular!! You would think after putting almost 4 years for a company that I would regret the change a little , but thanks to stan and the new way thing are run I won't miss it a bit. I asked when i put in my 2 weeks if i could keep my number since it was mine 4 years ago before i came to cingular (although I already knew the answer) of course my manager said no that the company would not put the phone back in my name...."and now the rest of the story".. I told her oh well I didn't expect any less than Crapular's best effort for my 3+ years of service.. (Those who aren't corp store employees may not understand what I am about to describe.) On my last day I went into CARE and split my number off the LARGE COU account it was on to my personal erp account that my wife was using (it was in my name). I took cingular's name off the account and went to verizon and ported out during lunch!! So my last 4 hours working for cingular I was carrying a VERIZON phone (incognito I might add)

Thanks Crapular for nothing!

That is funny!! I am hoping to get a job with verizon I have been in a corportate store 6 yrs now its getting worse by the hour. What type of work are you doing now?

funny you should ask...I went to the local verizon store on lunch with my cingular name tag and shirt on buying a verizon phone lovely advertising for cingular huh!

The assistant manager asked me to drop my resume off for him, and he would see what he could do, but if that goes south I have already accepted a postion with a new Best Buy store in my area.

Were they focusing on MRC, Features and accessories being above certain numbers or you get written up? Its amazing the crap the Pringular corporate can come up with got to love the company that keeps raising the bra.

Wonder what would happen if someone TOL'd a COU off onto a significant other's account.

I put in 2 years with the corporate side. Or the dark side as I like to say. Started off AWESOME. And then it slowly started to slide downhill. Then after the AT&T thing it slid downhill so fast I almost hit a tree jumping off.

i hope you realize verizon has a higher quota in features,sales,upgrades,accessories than cingular.

To bad you gave your notice you should have waited until they were really busy and told them you were going to verizon they would have let you go immediately.

but it easier to sell and you don't nearly as many problems after the sale. you can always go to the Verizon forum and see if you can find a disgruntled employee, I haven't seen any there.

amazing I noticed that to. I hear you worker harder there but get paid more and are appreciated more. Cingular is worried about there reputation I think its getting worse.

I never mentioned that I didn't agree with quotas.... but when your payouts get cut in half and the quotas go up, and up... doesn't make sense. and like suxbeingU said in the verizon forum you don't even have an employee sub-forum form them to rant...hmm wonder why that is... maybe because when the lady at verizon found out how little cingular pays she all but laughed, and then told me their part-time people make that...

they get paid good when they hit their numbers with cingular the big orange blob keeps making it's pockets fatter.

To switchchick: yes we had the new COMP plan or SAM plan as i like to call it, because you don't get "comped" for what you sell but you sure do get "samed" The reason I didn't just walk out when we were busy is b/c I really enjoyed the people that I work with, and I am bigger man than that..., that isn't to say that I wasn't tempted to do so. Also my last two weeks consisted of one week of PTO that my manager so graciously gave me. So if i left early that would have been a whole week pay I lost. I was taking whatever I could get.

Crapular lost an asset when I left....that is not me being arrogant. That is straight from the mouths of my managers and co-workers.... And because they insisted on keeping my number (which didn't work) I took my both my ERP lines to Verizon also so Cingular just lost another 3 customers and over $120 a month in revenue. Good job looking out for the 4 R's

Quotas are a necessary evil. However, I seriously doubt that in a store that historically has trouble getting more than one person above 40, they jack the quotas up even higher.

quota devided by number of reps, this keeps small stores from haveing 100% turnover. But does push large stores

my quotas keep going higher and higher.

they might as well make my quota 70 and be done with it.

also keep in mind with verizon what is going on this month. you have verizon admitting to having hidden fees and now they are openly charging customers an extra $0.40/ month and that if they don't agree to this the customer is welcome to terminate their contract within 60 days of recieving the notice without an ETF. might not change much but you never know.

personally i cant leave cingular unless i was fired or something.

my biased sales towards cingular proves this. i can outsell cingular anyday, and i have good tools to use for it.

same couldnt be said for t-mobile for me personally.

which surprises me as how att reps sold the hel out of at&t when coverage sucked.

I have already accepted a postion with a new Best Buy store in my area.

your going to best buy wow i'm sorry i really hope you get the verizon job in that case. best buy has no official quotas because they make no commission but they have more pressure to sell services than the accual product and they have more turnover than a pancake house because of this reason.
