Is 5300 ever gonna come out at Circuit City?

i called Circuit City today and asked about the 5300, they told me they havent heard a word yet about it coming out.. i also called the local store, they donno why they will be getting it either.. does anyone know if Circuit City even thinking about releasing this phone? i was just gonna trade in my 5150, now i donno what to do..

YES! I've been wanting to know the same thing. I have to go to Best Buy to get my upgrade from my err..broken 5150.

Does anyone who works at these stores know the in-store dates. I'm sure they have to be in the inventory system already.

What I don't understand is that on Page. 93 of the Dec.2 edition of Time Magazine, Sanyo has a full-page ad about the 5300. At the bottom of this ad, it displays logos for the stores where you can purchase them: "Sprint Store","Best Buy","Circuit City" and "Radio Shack". It's b ul l$h it .. and it's false advertising.

I WANT MY 5300.

A few days before the 5300 was released in Sprint stores, I went to Best Buy and asked them when they were getting it. They thought in January some time. So, maybe it will come out in Circuit City stores around the same time.

Although, when I bought the A500 from Best Buy, Circuit City hadn't had them yet. It took a few weeks for them to get it (at least here). But, that may have to do with Samsung. Best Buy had the A500 within the first day or so.

They're now available through circuitcity.com and probably on the way to the stores.

Update: looks like between Thursday eve and today they sold out what they had.

YUP!!! i checked their website last nite.. and they have it!!!!!! i went to the local store first thing this morning.. but they havent got it in the store yet.. probly tomorrow or latest next week!! they special order one for me for the warrenty replacement!! i cant wait!!!!! i'm all cited!!! woooohooooooo!!!

I picked up my 5300 at Circuit City this morning.

I had to drive an hour to get to one that had one in stock

but it was worth it.

The ones locally made it sound like they would have some more in within the next 2-5 days, but I didn't have anything else to do this morning, and quite frankly, I didn't want to wait.

I picked up my 5300 at Best Buy however the quantities BB and CC are getting are SLIM. The Best Buy I went to got 3 in last week and is expecting another 2 handsets this week. They're trickling in slowly so if you want to get one from Best Buy it's not going to be easy.

Also, my local Best Buy hasn't put out a display model yet as:

A) They'd have to remove another phone to fit it on the display

and

B) Due to the quantities they are getting they'd just be displaying a sold out phone 99% of the time.

My best advice is call them and ask if they're in maybe twice a week. Might even be able to get some info out of them on when their trucks come in so you know when you're likely to get a 'yes' answer.

I'm sure eventually these handsets will get out to market in larger numbers, but right now It's slim pickens.
