What's the difference between UK v903sh and JP v903sh?

Anyone knows? I'm thinking to get a UK version, but I'm afraid there's some functions that UK version doesn't have. Thanks.

Well mostly the software and interface is different in the UK version. However, it's an interesting side note that the Japan Vodafone manual for English users is the PDF version of the UK handset. Most of the capabilities are the same, however it depends where you're from as far as how you can use those capabilities (i.e. video call won't work in america).

The main thing to remember here is that the UK version was made at the same place as the Japan version. Firmwares are different as well as some software, but the overall capability is about the same.

What do you mean by software? Not only the language difference?

Well, the Japan phone already supports bilingual functioning (although Japan's Vodafone Live! is limited) but that's not what I mean by software. In another thread it was stated that there are different menu bars for the two versions of the phone. I assume this isn't the only software change that Sharp/Vodafone made in bringing the 903 over to Europe.

I have also noticed that the buttons (of course) are different and also that the Euro version supports T9 text input while the Japan version has a Kanji variable version. This isn't useful for those who don't read or write Japanese, but it's actually very useful when you're texting people here (since that's pretty much all they use their handsets for anyway).

you won't be able to unlock a jp 903sh until just right before the release of their next new phone

Is that true that UK 903 can set the MP3 (Not mmf or drm) as ringtons but JP 903 can't?

The JP version has Japanese and English languages (no T9 support though), as well as cosmetic stuff like transparent menu bar on standby, 3 customisable themes, and clock display on the menu bar. It supports AAC music files, as well as secure MP3 and AAC files (SD Audio). The EU version supports 11 Euro languages (with T9 for all of them), but doesn't get any of the above stuff. It does however support normal MP3 and AAC files, and both types can be set as ringtones. It's also available unlocked and is much easier to just buy and get working with your own network (compared to the JP version which not only is locked, but might have problems with MMS and WAP on networks other than Vodafone Japan).

Also, the JP version comes in three colours (black, white, red), whereas the EU version only comes in black.
