I'm needing someones assistance. I have a customer that is trying to download a specific ringtone with a p207 handset. When she tries to download it form her phone or pc it says that it is not compatiable. But I tried to download it to a v3 and it works fine. Do some of the phones except certain formats? If so why would cingular have do so. We also had this problem with the v551. I am lost as to what I should tell my customer.

Well the P207 seeing as its a Sammy takes .mmf files compared to being able to play .mp3 files like the V3. More that likely thats what it is.

it's not cingular that is doing this it is the phone manufacter that decides what format of ring tones the phones will be able to play.

Improper midi type? I know on a lot of NXTL hand sets that's generally the issue. Either way blame the phone manufacturer and not cingular. hopefully the ringtone puchases can be charged back to the account.
