Can't Clear Voicemail Indicator from Screen

I'm having an issue getting the icon cleared from my screen when my voicemails have been read and deleted. My service provider is ATT (Cingular). Has anyone else had this issue?

call yourself
leave voicemail
check voicemail
delete
press star to log off voicemail
do this slowly so the voicemail system will recognize your button pressing.
that should work.

you will need to type your password first and then press 3 or the number depends or the
telophone company good lock,, or do a master restet
