Just got a 902sh today!! Very nice screen and camera! I just put in a Kingmax 512mb MMC, but it does not allow me to format, read nor write. Does the 902sh not take MMCs?

i think it's sd card man... i don't think it supports mmc...

Officially the 902SH only supports SD cards. The GX30 was the same, except that people were able to use MMC cards without much of a problem...

Yea, I see some people in the other forums saying that they could use it with a MMC card.

Posted by: ubiquitous_tom

wow didnt' now that... cool

Nevermind, I got it working, you have to restart the phone before the phone recognizes your MMC card!

Well that always helps I guess...

hee. yah. it reads both types. but who really uses mmc. i bought sd cause it was cheaper and more widely used in my devices.. but then nokia sent me phones that only use dv rs mmc.. and that pissed me off. and bloody tiger direct still hasn't sent me the memory card. its been 2.5 weeks. death to them.

Last I heard was that Nokia had a contract with MMC developers, that's why none of their phones uses SD.

No the reason they've stuck with MMC is because the SD Association charges a stupid amount in licensing fees for you to put an SD card slot in your device. So Nokia stuck with the cheaper MMC standard until last year, when they realised the world was going the way of SD, and became a member of the SD Association. Already their upcoming sliders run miniSD, and from next year probably all their new phones will run either miniSD or microSD.

In my opinion DV-RSMMC was one of their stupider decisions. It's still very difficult to get these cards...

Anyway, off topic here, so I'll stop.

its soo hard to get that dv-rsmmc. its ridiciously hard.. my 6682 uses it. i still don't have a memory card. so annoyed. i'm glad they're going the way of the SD. thank heavens for that.
