best phone to get in the $100 range?

just wondering cause i am going to cingular this weekend and will prolly get a phone. i really want the p207, but i think thats still being fixed or whatever. next phone i wanted was the siemen s66, but thats not on the site anymore either. next best thing might be the 551, e317, c2000, or even the sony z500

if you go to Best Buy or a third party Cingular reseller, you can get the phones a lot cheaper than through a cingular store. I got a Razr from bestbuy for $99.99, and I think the v551 was like $48.

yea, i just saw the bestbuy site and they have the razr for $70, but thats only until saturday. hopefully they can forward my number at bestbuy, if not...im screwed

If by "forward your number" you mean port the number into Cingular. BestBuy will be able to do that for you no prob. That is what I did, i ported into cingular from Nexthell, and the chick at BestBuy knew exactly what to do.

The Siemens S66 has been discontinued by Cingular... I have one that I got for $160 on ebay and I like it quite a bit. However, it doesn't play too nicely with my Logitech Mobile Freedom BT headset and it has no voice dial, which is kind of a pain. The interface is a bit unusual (example, the side keys don't adjust ringtone volume in standby?!?) but doesn't take too long to get used to. However, the camera is pretty good overall, it has a really nice screen, voice quality is nothing short of excellent and reception is definitely great. So it's a trade-off... and it's not $100

The P207 has been discontinued as well, so throw that one out. I agree about the Best Buy idea... their phones are always cheaper than the Cingular corp stores for some reason. I think I saw a RAZR for $79 recently, even.

well then...looks like im going to bestbuy this weekend. cause i really wanted the razr, but didnt have enough, but now i see that its $70, im going to try and grab that. all i gotta hope now, is that they have the black razr in stock

do u think the price of the razr online is the same price of the razr in the store (this is for the bestbuy deal)

I doubt it is the same. the razr has been about 10 - 20 bucks cheaper through best buy's online partner. If it is $70 at the store this is good news, but expect to pay the $99.99 plus tax price, and watch out cause some people have to fork over deposits.

well...i wouldnt mind paying $100 for a $200 phone.

and theres a $230 rebate with the online...so would there only be a $200 rebate in the store? or is it just $100 with no rebate (doubt it, ill prolly pay the whatever price, then get money back)

and whoever got the phone for $100...did u get a rebate, or was it just $100?

ill have an update in a couple of hours hopefully, when i go in

When i got the razr at bestbuy, it was $99.99 plus tax, no rebates to mail in and wait for. Total it was like $108 final price out the door.

If not, Sam's Club has it for the same price, same deal. No rebates or nothing, just $99.87. Also, right now at Sam's Club, when you get the RAZR (blk or slvr) with a new 2-year, you can get a Plantronics BT headset for $20. (2500)

lol...we got our current alltel plan at sams club. idk...i know im going to bestbuy soon, then if they dont have it, i can try sams, and if anything...ill go to cingular as a last resort and get a phone there (def wont be a razr though)

ok...i went to bestbuy and somehow they convince my mom that verizon is better, but somehow i got her to go to the cingular store and they said the reception is pretty good around here. anyway...we didnt have our old cell phone bill, so they couldnt forward the number just yet, but we are going back in about an hour. only thing is...bestbuy didnt have the updated plans on their lil phamplets (spelling?), but the people at cingular said we would get the new plans, cause its in their computers. also, they didnt have a display for the black razr...so im hoping they have it, they just didnt want to display it. if not...ill still prolly get a silver razr

man..leave it to my parents to ruin my chances of getting a razr.

so we go to bestbuy to get the phone, and all of a sudden they are like, i dont like the selection of phones they have (they only had 4)..so they switch over to the verizon section, and somehow with my quick thinking i convince them to go back to cingular, but we have to go to the actually store. get there and i ask if there was anyway to get the bestbuy price, but at that store, and he gives me this long story about how they are an authorized dealer and all this. after a long fight...and no money, i ended up getting the v551.

is there anyway i can send ringtones to my phone for free beside a data cable or bluetooth?
