I have treo 600 and love it! I now have a chance to upgrade to a treo 650....

What is the different between the 600 and the 650?
should I do it?
What is a fair price for the 650?
What is a fair price that I should be asking for my old never locked treo 600?
Does anyone wants to buy my treo 600?

any imput is apreciated

Comparison.

Unless I missed it on the list from the above link, two big differences not mentioned were the replaceble battery and non-volatile memory that the 650 has and 600 does not. The replaceable/removeable battery is important for obvious reasons, but the non-volatile is the biggest improvement next to the better screen IMO. Assuming that not everyone knows what the memory differences are, when the Treo 600's battery is completely drained (and remember, you can't swap out the battery for a fresh one), the Treo is wiped leaving you with a blank PDA when you charge it up again- not fun when you're away from home. The Treo 650's memory does not need constant power to retain it's information. Also, the most recent firmware upgrade on the 650 (at least on Cingular) enabled Bluetooth DUN (modem) and resolved a memory usage issue- more for the user- I gained almost 9megs.

As far as pricing for you old 600, I can only suggest looking at EBay. Seems like most of the folks still buying 600's are looking for them on EBay. Pricing looks consistant there. If I had started with a 600, I would have upgraded to a 650 right away!

Good luck!

I'd also consider the following things "big" differences.......

-Bluetooth
-Hi-Resolution screen
-Edge

All things the 650 had that the 600 does not.

And the fact my treo 600 did not have a camera
and the screen is like NIGHT and DAY between the 600 and 650

I could not believe the difference between the screens, especially since I liked the 600 but when I got my habds on the 650 it was like dang thats is alot better resolution

I have both a 600 and a 650 and I plan to sell one of them in about two weeks. The 650 is an unlocked Cingular about three months old in like-new shape and will include a belt holster. I'm going to ask $400 including shipping. The 600 is 11 months old, an unlocked T-Mobile, with a few tiny nicks and scratches on the case but excellent otherwise. It'll have a car charger, a Proporta aluminum case, a leather case, three styluses, two with ballpoints, and I'll be asking $200 for it. I'll only sell one and keep the other.

I'm just not impressed by the 650. I don't use Bluetooth; I see no need for a removable battery (I used a Palm IIIc with a sealed battery for five years); I've added satisfactory video and MP3 playing to the 600; I really don't notice the difference in processor speed; there's no EDGE in my area; and while the 650's brighter colors are nice, they're unnecessary. Besides all this, I have the software setup I want on the 600 and some apps I use on it won't work on the 650, nothing major. Maybe the next generation Treo will impress me more. The 650 sits on a shelf while I carry the 600.

On non-volatile memory, a 600 will shut down before all power is exhausted. It can't be turned back on and it should retain its memory for four or five days after that on the charge remaining in the battery. If you have a backup on an SD card, you haven't lost a thing. If a 650's battery is completely drained, it won't work until you replace it or recharge it. The 650's non-volatile memory is noticeably slower than the RAM in the 600—just switch from an app to the phone and compare how long it takes on a 600 and 650.

All this is just my personal opinion to show that some people don't think a 650 is that much better than a 600. When the new 670/700 comes out in a few months, there will be hundreds of thousands of 650s for sale for not much more than 600s. Now's the time to sell, not buy, a 650.

I did the upgrade from the 600 to the 650, and it was worth it to me. Faster processor, better screen, faster (EDGE) (on GSM at least), and lots and lots of other minor imrpovements. ALso I love the bluetooth.
650 prices are down a lot. But if you can hold off, you may want to wait and see what Palm announces for the Christmas season before you decide if it's worth the 650 or to pay more for whatever follows.
(As was mentioned) rumors are of the Treo 670 which would run Windows Mobile 5, and a Treo 700 which would run Palm OS and be an upgrade form Treo 650.
Beyond that they ARE rumors. The 670 is very likely, but we have no idea what to expect from the 700 (if that's what it's called.) and there is definately no clue as to when these might be out. Maybe as soon as December, maybe later.

I only say this so you don't get a 650 today and wish you had waited a few months (if you care.) Also 650 prices will drop at least a little.
I myself don't see upgrading from the 650 any time soon. I'm simply very happy with it and it meets all my needs so either way it's a worthy buy if yoiu know you won't have buyer remorse for not waiting.

The Treo 650 has given me more joy and more things to do in one and a half month than my UX50 did in one and a half year. If a UX50 to a Treo 650 was worth it, I think a Treo 600 to a Treo 650 should be worth it too.

I think one of the mojor things that I look foward for is the WIFI that will be available for the 650. The palm sd card can be used for the 650 for wifi. Looking foward to be able to link with out the cradle, (I don't have a data plan as it is too expensive and not worth it for me)
are there any wifi available for the 600 yet?

There is Wifi sled for both Treo 600 and 650s. I disagree about having Wifi would be important. Remember, I moved from a Wifi, BT device to a GPRS/EDGE device and had no regrets. I dont even care about the speeds as Wifi would tie you to a 300 (at optimal) feet from the AP. Sure I want to use Wifi at home and connect to my network. When there is a Hotspot I would like to connect too but Wifi sucks up the battery life so fast I wouldnt be able to enjoy the high speed for long. In Vancouver, I cant find many Hotspot anyway. The convenience of GPRS/EDGE is much more important to me. Having both is an option but really, I dont miss Wifi a bit so I wouldnt fork out a hundred something bucks for the sled which also adds weight.

i agree about the sled...i hate the weight...i too was gonna wait it out for the 700, but hey Ebay exists for a reason!!

Anyone know when the 600's will be discontinued so I can claim a 650 on extended warranty??
